Hubspot research indicated that 64% of small businesses use email marketing to communicate with their customers, 78% of marketers have seen an increase in email engagement over the last year, and 81% of B2B marketers say their most used form of content marketing is email newsletters.

Where it can fall down is on the topic of value. Your email marketing must be both regular and valuable to your clients. Discounts, thought leadership, free training seminars … whatever it may be you need to provide your clients with reasons to engage with your email marketing campaign.

Finally, make sure you measure the success of your campaign. What is the quality of your database of contacts (email bounce back rate), how many open the email (email open rate), click rate and unsubscribe rate. All of these metrics should be tracked and monitored and guide your ongoing campaign.
